The magic world of wrestling fighters

Professional wrestling as we know it today began around 1965, when Terry McCann, Myron Roderick and other friends began discussing about a wrestling organizations that will be ran by wrestlers. This association would offer competitive programs for professional wrestlers, programs that educate and help develop people that want to become pro-wrestlers and establishes procedures and rules for this sport.

The first meeting that will establish the organization took place in January of 1968. In May and June, the people involved announced the formation of the United States Wrestling Federation (USWF), making their goals, objectives and structure clear from the start. In April 1969, the newly established organization opened the first championship, the National Open in Evanston, Ill.

In July of 1970, Federation Internationale de Luttes Associees (FILA) formed a joint commission out of five members each from USWF and Amateur Athletic Union. The Federation then merged with the U.S. Kids Wrestling Federation in the year 1975. American Arbitration Association decided on September 7 1978 that the AAU not be a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee.

The Committee proposed a structure for the new United States Wrestling Association which later became USA Wrestling (USAW) on March 14, 1983. Shortly thereafter, FILA recognized USAW as the member organization from the United States and became an authority in what wrestling is concerned.

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is an authority in the professional wrestling industry and a famous a media and sports entertainment company. Vince McMahon is the majority owner and Chairman of the company while his wife is the CEO of WWE. Executive Vice President of Global Media Shane and Senior Vice President of Creative Writing Stephanie, along with their parents hold about 70% of the economic interest, also having the largest voting authority.

After a conflict in 2000 with the World Wildlife Fund, the World Wrestling Federation decided to change its name to the current one, WWE. A few months after taking on the new name, the WWE decided to make another chance and create two separate rosters, RAW and SmackDown! that included players left from the Invasion storyline. Under the name Draft Lottery, the management would change players between the rosters and bring a new line up everytime. May 2006 was the time when the famous wrestling company revived the Extreme Championship Wrestling as its third brand. In what follows, you can find the current champions for each of the WWE titles.

The current champions on RAW are     John Cena -  WWE Champion, Santino Marella - WWE Intercontinental Champion, Melina - WWE Women's Champion, Matt and Jeff Hardy - World Tag Team Champions. Under the brand SmackDown!, The Undertaker is the World Heavyweight Champion, Chris Benoit - WWE United States Champion, Chavo Guerrero - WWE Cruiserweight Champion, while Paul London and Brian Kendrick are the WWE Tag Team Champions. Bobby Lashley won the title of World Champion under the brand Extreme Championship Wrestling.
